Bhagavad Gita class led by Jagadguru Kripalu ji Maharaj at Pasadena Hindu Temple

The Family Gita Class led by Swami Nikhilanand Ji, sanyasi disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj, was a huge success in Pasadena.

Here are some more upcoming events with Swamiji:

Swami Nikhilanand, disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj, leads Family Gita Class at Pasadena Hindu Temple

Each day of the Family Gita Class with Swami Nikhilanand Ji at Pasaden Hindu Temple, children and their parents received the wealth of true Hinduism through the Gita. Namsankirtan began every evening at 7:00pm. Then Swami Nikhilanand delivered fun, interactive talks on the Gita where kids and parents had the opportunity to ask questions. Following the lesson, devotional Jeopardy was played every day; kids vs. parents! Finally, arti was performed at the end of every evening.

Before the devotional Jeopardy game on the last day, each kid received a beautiful picture of Radha Krishna from Swamiji, to help with their devotional remembrance. Overall, children and adults discovered their heritage, gained understanding of practical concepts for daily living, and had lots of fun! Dinner Prasad was served daily around 6:30

Here are some quotes from the children:

An older kid: "The cool thing is, he presents his messages and lessons in a way which the younger generation especially can connect to...and it's very easy to understand and we can relate to them ourselves. So, coming here, it's eye-opening to all of us and it's a great way to be connected to our culture in this busy American society."

A younger kid: "We got to learn new things by also interacting with Swamijji, asking him questions, and I had fun that way! Usually kids in America don't get an opportunity to learn about things like the Gita, and I'm very glad that we got to have the opportunity. I would also recommend this class to your friend, because, they would learn a lot about their religion. ...You couldn't actually Goggle it out, that much information."

Preacher of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj gives Bhagvad Gita Class in Fremont, California

Radha Madhav Dham's popular Gita Class, which was recently led by Swami Nikhilanand Ji, pracharak of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj, in Fremont California, has been featured in India West.

The Fremont Hindu Temple hosted a Family Gita Class during the first week of summer holidays that was attended by over 200 parents and children throughout the 7-day course. The unique kid-friendly class was taught by Swami Nikhilanand, a travelling sanyasi teacher and disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj, who is based at Radha Madhav Dham in Austin, TX.

Instead of a traditional lecture format, the lessons of the Bhagwad Gita were taught by Swami Nikhilanand, pracharak of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj, in an interactive style that encouraged questions from both kids and adults, and allowed them to take notes on the main points. Kids and teenagers opened up and freely asked the questions which had been burning inside them, but had never had the chance to ask. Questions like, "How do I know God really exists?" and "Why did God put us here?" were asked and answered. Kids and parents also enjoyed the game of Jeopardy that concluded each day's class and gave them a chance to test their knowledge on the Gita.

It was obvious to all in attendance that through understanding the philosophy of the Bhagwad Gita, kids developed pride in Hinduism, and parents commented that the discussions didn't end when the family left the mandir - conversations with their kids at home the whole week revolved around various topics that had been covered in the class. Everyone is anxiously awaiting the next Family Gita Class.

Family Gita Class - A class for kids, youth and parents at Canoga Park High School, Topanga, California, with Swami Nikhilanand disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj

When:
Spring Break Program
Sunday - Saturday
April 13th - 19th
7:00 - 8:30 pm

Venue: Canoga Park High School
6580 Topanga Canyon Blvd.,
Canoga Park,
California 91303

Swami Nikhilanand, a disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj, will present this unique 7-day Bhagavad Gita course in Canoga Park, California during this year's spring break, from April 13th to 19th. The fun and interactive format will allow the whole family to learn the most important topics of the Bhagavad Gita one chapter at a time. The course, held daily in the evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, is unique because it allows adults and children (age 6 & up) to learn the philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita together in the same class. This is possible due to the innovative format which encourages questions and allows the interest of the students to drive the direction of the class.

Kids get to have their long-standing questions about Hinduism answered, and clear doubts and confusions about Hindu philosophy. This helps them to grow pride in Hinduism and feel comfortable being Hindu. It is fascinating for adults to watch how quickly youth and kids are able to grasp the concepts of the Bhagavad Gita. Although adults freely participate in question and answer sessions and discussions with Swami Nikhilanand, they are particularly inspired by the childrens' insightful questions.

Swami Nikhilanand, who resides at the largest Hindu ashram in North America, Radha Madhav Dham in Austin, Texas, has developed his series of Family Gita Classes over the last decade of teaching in Hindu Mandirs across the U.S., in cities like New York, Washington, D.C., Houston, Dallas and Los Angeles. He has refined the format to appeal to both young and old by focusing on the highlights of each chapter of the Bhagavad Gita (one chapter is covered each day) with emphasis on how to live the philosophy in your daily life. Worksheets are provided for those who wish to have a summary in note form of the day's topics. Each day also includes tips on meditation for all ages, a quiz on the day's material in the form of a friendly game of Jeopardy, arti, and dinner prasad. Asked what the most impressive thing about the classes is, Swami Nikhilanand replied,

"It's the way the kids want to come back day after day. They are the ones pulling their parents to get there on time so they don't miss anything. Just bring them for one day and you'll see. That is my challenge to parents."

The Family Gita Class is a free program and will be held at the Canoga Park High School at 6580 Topanga Canyon Blvd. in Canoga Park, CA 91303. The school provides free parking. For more information, visit the website at www.GitaClass.Weebly.com, or call Ravinder Soni at 323-861-1417.
